BlogRush Version 2 went live today with new and improved stat reporting. I figure I would use it to share how BlogRush is performing for me. When BlogRush was giving just temp stats I wasn’t able to see how much traffic, if any, it was sending me or how many total credits I have build up. All that information is now available.
For those who don’t know what BlogRush is, or need a refresher, you can read my first post about BlogRush here. By adding the BlogRush Widget to your blog, you get distribution for your latest blog post titles across a network of related blogs. BlogRush users earn credits based on their own traffic as well as the traffic of other users they refer to BlogRush.

Congrats to Shoemoney for winning the RSS competition. I had the lead right up until the last day. Then amazingly, Shoe managed to add 4,403 readers today to take the win. The final RSS count is 13,276 for me and 18,003 for Shoemoney. I gain 4,691 new RSS reader while Shoe gain 7,170 (with 4,403 coming in on the last day).
I want to thank everyone who subscribed to my RSS feed. This competition was a lot of fun. The entire point of this competition was to increase both our RSS readership and in that regard, Shoe and I are big winners. I will be drawing the rest of the RSS prizes later today and tomorrow. I will also be doing a recap on the methods I used to increase my RSS by over 4,600 readers. I’m sure Shoe will be handing out some advices as well.

Building up your credit score is something that should be important to anyone. Whether you’re looking to get a new credit card, take out a mortgage on a new home, or even apply for a job in the United States, your credit score will follow you everywhere and affect nearly everything you do. With the subprime mortgage crisis still in full swing, improving one’s credit score is more important than ever.
Well, the Ultimate Credit Ebook was written exactly for this purpose and it promises to raise your credit score by 200 points or more. Can it live up to these claims? That’s what this ReviewMe request is supposed to find out.

I have two 125×125 button ads available for November. The button appear on every page, under the heading “John Chow dot Com Sponsors.” Button locations are randomized with each page load to give advertisers even exposure. Pricing is $500 per month per button. All button advertisers can leverage their ad buy with a text ad in the 13,000+ RSS feed for only $100 more.
These ad spots don’t come up for sale often so if you’re interest in it, then PayPal $500 (or $600 if you want to RSS ad as well) to johnchow@johhnchow.com and email your 125×125 ad creative to the same address. Your button will be up and running at the start of the month. I expect to have the buttons sold within the hour so if you really want it, order it now. Read the rest of this entry »

With all the stuff I’ve been giving away, I realized that there are still quite a few copies of 7 Winning Strategies for Trading Forex by Grace Cheng sitting on my desk. Grace is somewhere in Borneo fooling around with monkeys. I guess her Forex trading is on auto pilot. You can find out where in the world Grace is at her travel blog, Worldiki.

I first met Tyler Dikman at Comdex 2001 when he was just 17 years old. Now, most 17 year old kids generally don’t attend trade shows in Las Vegas but Tyler is no normal kid. Since the age of five, Tyler aspired to run his own successful business. From lemonade stands, lawn mowing, babysitting, and magic show businesses to starting CoolTronics at the age of fifteen.
Over the years, I watched Tyler build CoolTronics to over $3.5 million in sales. There are tons of stories I can tell about some of the crazy things we’ve done at the various trade shows over the years but I think I’ll save those for another day.

The Five Million Dollar View
Yesterday, I took the family to check out the homes at Whitby Estates in West Vancouver. Whitby Estates is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in all of Canada. The Estates offers dramatic ocean and city views from Mount Baker to Vancouver Island. Once you check out the views, you’ll understand why the average home at Whitby Estates cost $5 million.

In many ways, this all started with the Million Dollar Homepage. It was an ingenious and truly original idea at the time, charging people to buy a few pixels on a single page. The concept expanded into the Million Dollar Wiki, opening the floodgates to countless copycats. Most charge you a pretty penny for your paid wiki, but not the One Buck Wiki. Unfortunately, it seems that they put in this ReviewMe request a little too late.
From the Makers of the Five Dollar Wiki…

Do you ever wonder what the Google War Room, the G’Plex that is, is like on a week like this? We all know Google has the ability, the means, and hell, some would even argue the desire, to cause complete chaos throughout the Internet. We ol’ bloggers don’t help much, in that we spread the word of Google’s Games at super-sonic speeds. With that said, I often wonder in a week like this whether G’Gals and G’Guys, the Google employees that is, are laughing at us or screaming at us for uncovering all their mistakes.

Google PageRank Algorithm Leaked
It seems everyone is still tied up in a knot over the recent Google PageRank update. Well, it seems a trusted source inside the Google headquarters has leaked part of the PageRank algorithm that Google used to to slapped a bunch of blogs this week. A big thanks to BlogStorm.com for the heads up on this one. Looking at the codes, things become a lot clearer.
$spammers=file_get_contents(”http://www.johnchow.com/”);
$pos = strpos($spammers, $domain);
if ($pos === false) {
$newpagerank=rand(0, 10);
} else {
$newpagerank=rand(0, $pagerank);
}
